A mobile vehicle registration inspection (commonly known as a pink slip) is a safety inspection carried out by an authorised examiner at your preferred location, such as your home or workplace. Once passed, the inspection is submitted electronically to Transport for NSW so you can renew your vehicle registration.

If your vehicle doesn’t pass, we’ll let you know exactly what needs fixing.
You’ll have 14 days to get the repairs done (with any repairer you like) and then book a re-inspection.
Please note:
• When rebooking a second inspection, an additional $49 mobile call-out fee applies
• Once the vehicle passes, we’ll lodge the inspection with Transport for NSW as normal -
We inspect most light vehicles up to 4.5 tonnes GVM, including cars, utes, vans, motorcycles, and light trailers/caravans that require a safety inspection for registration renewal.

Inspections must be completed on a safe, level, sealed surface (such as a driveway or car park) with enough space around the vehicle for the inspection to be carried out safely.

No — as long as the vehicle is accessible, unlocked (or keys provided), and safe to inspect, you do not need to be present. This can be arranged during booking.

Most inspections take approximately 30–45 minutes, depending on the condition of the vehicle.
